Well, we all knew that it had to happen sooner or later. I recorded and aired my last episode of Mr. Manly on Friday, February 4th, 2011, exactly 23 years to the day that I recorded and aired my first episode. It was great fun but it’s time to move on. I’ll be checking in here from time to time!

Well, I had the best of intentions with those but, alas. Trying to get actors to work for free or close to it proved to be a real challenge. The main thing that came out of that video is that I really feel that it may have saved my life from ending years before it should. I had not really taken a good look at myself in quite a while and I could see in the video that I had become quite the little piggy. So, I took to swimming everyday, rain or shine, hot or cold and I have lost over 30 pounds without dieting! One hour every day. I swim in my pool at my home – weather permitting – and at a local Aquatics Center. One night I thought to myself, “It’s night time, it’s pouring freezing rain, hail is falling, and I’m swimming!” It was fantastic. (The pool is heated).

Other developments: In the last two years I have FINALLY passed all of the exams and I am now a diploma-certified sommelier with the International Sommelier Guild and I also have been certified as an ISG instructor. I start teaching in October so I look forward to that!
